Fourth-grade students from the Mendell Elementary school fleshed out their curriculum on suffrage and women in Boston history with a field trip led by Boston Women’s History Trail board members in June.
One teacher who requested the field trip, Liana Manassah, said:
“My 4th-grade class went on a walking tour while reading the book The Hope Chest and studying women’s suffrage. The students loved connecting their learning to discussions on the walking tour. Students were so engaged and the tour guides did a wonderful job of facilitating rich discussion with our 4th graders. The walking tour was one of the best field trips!”
