Foremothers of the Women’s Suffrage Movement: The Women of Brook Farm and Contemporaries
In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920 granting women the right to vote, New Brook Farm and the Boston Women’s Heritage Trail present a program of readings by the early leaders of the women’s movement in New England. Come meet Margaret Fuller, Sophia Ripley, Lucy Stone, Louisa May Alcott, Josephine St. Pierre Ruffin, and other remarkable and courageous women who blazed the trail for the later 19th ad 20th century suffragists.
