Take a Walk Through

Four Centuries Of Women’s History

The seven walks in our guidebook shown on the map below introduce more than 200 Boston women in a wide variety of settings, occupations, and backgrounds.

BWHT has also sponsored the development of six mini-trails (links) in Boston neighborhoods blazed by teachers and students in the Boston Public Schools and a city charter school. In addition, BWHT created The Ladies Walk (pdf) in honor of the Boston Women’s Memorial celebrating the lives of Abigail Adams, Lucy Stone, and Phillis Wheatley; a Jamaica Plain trail, Let Me Tell You Her Story; and collaborated with the Museum of Fine Arts to develop a trail, A Studio of Her Own: Women Artists in the Back Bay.

BWHT board members and associates enjoy leading guided walks for groups of up to 20 as schedules permit. We charge a nominal fee for this service. Please contact us for more information about guided walks.
