This exhibition illustrates the role of women in American life, as portrayed by the examples of 16 remarkable women and women's organizations in Allston-Brighton over the past 250 years.
These individuals and organizations are representative of the many women
throughout America who fought and marched against sex discrimination and inequality in economic, social, cultural, governmental, and religious institutions. These courageous struggles which have helped secure a high degree of gender equality in American society deserve to be celebrated.
An illustrated guide to the Brighton-Allston Women’s Heritage Trail will be available for those wishing to take self-guided tours of the local trail.
The exhibition will run through April 30, 2009.
